Annual Preservation Award
This award annually recognizes and acknowledges an adaptive reuse, renovation, and completed act of preservation on either a residential or commercial building within City limits.
The restoration and preservation of Mebane’s historic neighborhoods, downtown, and underutilized buildings create jobs, provide housing, promote tourism, stimulate private investment, and conserve energy and resources. To acknowledge and celebrate a single act of preservation will allow Mebane to highlight projects that provide examples of best practices in building reuse and historic preservation.
Eligibility: Individuals, businesses, organizations, and government whose efforts have resulted in significant contributions to the preservation, restoration, rehabilitation, adaptive reuse, or interpretation of Mebane’s architectural heritage are eligible for the award. The project is to have been completed within the last 12 months of the nomination submission.
Nominations: Nominations may be submitted throughout the year. The award will be announced by October 15 and presented the third Monday of the month of October at a free and public program held at the museum.
